Vision Charter *9/3/09*
Hello! Just a reminder that Vision Charter School is closed Monday, September 7, 2009 for Labor Day. If you are planning a family vacation, please make every effort to not take your child out of school until after noon. This allows the school to receive full funding. In the event that a child is at school less than four hours a day, it does negatively impact our state funding. Thank you for making every effort to observe this request.
This Friday is the first Enrichment club of the year! The 2nd-6th grade Enrichment Clubs start at1:45 and your child will return to their classroom at 3:00 to prepare to go home.
Please discuss appropriate hand washing procedures with your child and encourage them to wash their hands multiple times a day. Students who have a fever should stay home until they have been fever free for twenty-four hours. Thank you for observing this request.
Middle school and High School lunchtime clubs start the day after Labor Day. Clubs include Drama, Student Council, and Guitar & Song Writing. Choir is already underway. After school Debate Club begins next Tuesday from 3:15-4:00. Please send a note to the office if your 7th-9th grade child is interested in being a part of the Debate Club led by Mr. Lower.
During the first week of school your child was given the new 2009-2010 student handbook. Please read through the handbook with your child and make sure to sign the back page and return it to class as soon as possible.
If you need to change your child's normal routine for after school departure, please make sure to contact the school no later than 2:45pm. Any calls after this time may not be able to be taken care of before the children are released for the day.
Each Friday is jeans day for our VCS students. Your student is able to wear non-uniform attire each Friday for $1.00. The money raised from jeans day is used for the MS/HS student activities and for all art and science supplies for K-9 classes. (Only the money collected by the MS/HS students will be used for their activities.) If your child wears non-uniform attire, they still must wear clothing free of rips, stains, and any inappropriate images/sayings. Also, make sure that the clothing is not too tight, too loose, or too short. Students are not allowed to wear shirts over their polos. Only solid colored sweaters and sweatshirts may be worn over the polo. If you question whether or not something is appropriate chances are, it is not. Any child that abuses the jeans day Friday privilege will lose it for the rest of the year. If your child wants to wear jeans but is unable to pay they are able to work the $1.00 off by checking into the office or with their teacher Friday Morning.
Thank you to each of our wonderful VCS families for making our school a success.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend,
