YEARBOOK!!!
The 2008-2009 Vision Charter School Yearbook is almost here!
It is not too late to order a yearbook for each of your children at $20 per yearbook. Order forms are available in the office.
Yearbooks are scheduled for delivery during the last week of school.
THANK YOU TO THE PFA VOLUNTEERS for hours of preparation for the Science and Art fair! You ladies are wonderful!
Thank you to Dakan Funeral Home for the copy paper donation. We appreciate your ongoing support of Vision Charter School!
****We are always in need of paper at the school. If you know of a business interested in advertising in our newsletter and our website please encourage them to donate a box of paper. We will gladly post a thank you to their business with their phone number and business contact information. This is a very inexpensive advertising opportunity.
PFA NEWS!
Hi all! Watch for a letter to be coming home with your kids tomorrow that outlines all of the events that will be happening Thursday evening. All of our students have been working so hard on their art and science projects as well as helping out the PFA with getting ready for the yard sale and uniform/book exchange. Remember, for every piece of uniform clothing or every book you bring, you will be given a ticket so you can swap for a different item! If you want to bring 20 items, then you get 20 to swap!!! What a great way to get ready for the next school year! (Remember though, no rips, tears, or stains please.)~Also, Mrs. Oldenkamp has allowed for a free dress week for the last week so we can all get ready for the swap!!!!
Also, please start bringing your items to donate for the yard sale. It will be going on from 4-8pm and will have TONS of stuff for everyone! Just leave your items behind the office. We are also having a concession stand, face painting, a talent show, jump houses, and much, much more!!!! You're not going to want to miss this!
***The PFA needs a few things to help pull this off. We are in need of tables, canopy's (to shade areas that people are working), and clothes racks and hangers!!***
If you are able to help provide any of those items for the evening it would be so very helpful! Please just let me know and I will be sure to get it back to you. We need the items by 3:00 please!! ~ THANK YOU!
We still need a few more volunteers to help out at the sale. If you are able to give a bit of time I would really be grateful. Just email be back or call me at the school office at 455-9220,
Thank you again for helping this to be a great "COMMUNITY SPRING FESTIVAL AND ART/SCIENCE FAIR!
~Tanya

Mastery of Grade Level Expectations for Seventh Grade and higher:
Vision Charter School report cards, in addition to the ISAT test scores, are used to determine mastery of grade level material. Both are based on Idaho State Standards.
Students who have not shown mastery of grade level expectations in all core subject areas will not be eligible for promotion to the next grade. Mastery is defined as a “C” average or above. Core subject area classes include Math, Reading, Writing, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies.
Students who have not shown mastery of grade level material will be able to be eligible for promotion in the event that they attend 96% of summer school and show mastery of the content in question during summer school. The fifty dollar fee assessed from IDLA for each course in question will be the responsibility of the parent.
Parents and students may appeal the decision of the staff for retention or mandatory summer school. The appeal will be made in writing within fifteen days of the notice for retention or mandatory summer school to be eligible for promotion. The written appeal must outline any evidence, argument, or extenuating circumstances impacting the student’s academic progress throughout the year. The appeals committee will be made up of the administrator, two staff members, and two board members. The decision of the appeals board will be considered final. The parent and student may be requested to appear before the appeals board if determined necessary by the appeals board. Please address all appeals to Wendy OldenKamp, 20185 Lolo Ave, Caldwell, Idaho 83605 or fax to 455-9121.
For all grades, promotion of all special education students is at the discretion of the IEP team.
If you can’t reach the office in the event of an emergency, please contact Mrs. OldenKamp on her cell phone at 919-9636. Please only call the cell number in the event of a true emergency.
